Unterwegs – On the Road – Essentials of History – Kunstausstellung, Schloss Nymphenburg, München

Wir sind alle unterwegs, in der eigenen, aber auch in der großen Geschichte. Während meiner Ausstellung im Eisernen Haus des Nymphenburger Schlossparks im Juni 2023 konnte ich mich mithilfe von Skulpturen, Bildern und Filmen mit vielen interessierten Besuchern über wesentliche Elemente unserer gemeinsamen Geschichte unterhalten. Dieser Film gibt die Einführung in die Ausstellung wieder.

What makes despotism possible? Who gives power to Putin? Die Macht / Das Volk / und wir…. Wie wird man Diktator? Und wenn, warum? Welche Rolle spielen die willfährigen Helfer, die Einflüsterer, das Volk? Warum nehmen wir die Wissenschaft, die demokratischen Regeln und die Kunst nicht ernst?

Vor anderthalb Jahren haben Kinder weltweit Steine bemalt, um uns allen Mut zu machen gegen Corona. Was war der Dank der Erwachsenen? Was werden Erwachsene den Kindern sagen, wenn die einmal groß sind? Shame on you!

Memorial for Aleppo

Aleppo was conquered in December 2016. We bow for the misery of the People of Aleppo. The video describes empty cells of destroyed buildings resembling empty coffins, mothers without children, lost people roaming about and supposed victors together with a paralyzed frozen music („Paralyse“ by Kirill Korsunenko according to the etude a-moll op 10 no 2 of Frederic Chopin)

Walter Dorsch and Carl Orff: Carmina burana – part I O Fortuna – revised

The medieval song „O Fortuna“ was interpreted by the famous composer Carl Orff music and text, which was interpreted by Walter Dorsch with symbols for destiny, genesis and destiny. All songs in 5 short films have been interpreted by the Munich Motettenchor (Benedikt Haag) and the Akademischer Orchesterverein (Alois Rottenaicher). License from SCHOTT.Music.de.

Walter Dorsch and Carl Orff: Carmina burana, XVII: Leyla or Stetit Puella

The medieval song was set to music by the famous composer Carll Orff and presented by Yvonne Steiner, soprano, and Akademischer Orchesterverein München (conducted by Alois Rottenaicher, courtesy of SCHOTT.Music.de). The short film gives an interpretation between optimism and pessimism as homage to Carl Orff and Edvard Munch („The Scream“)

Balance – Polka

There are several groups of bronze figures dancing on an unbalanced platform to a polka: three maiden, chattering women, boys quarrelling, men fighting, consultants and one man thinking. Similar to real life, the balance is unstable. The dance of Dmitrij Shostakowich was kindly provided by productiontrax.com.
